Rita M. Luster, 62, of 1364 Rainbow Boulevard, Hiawatha, died Sunday, August 1, 2004, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a short illness. Services: 12 Noon, Thursday, August 5, 2004, at St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church, Hiawatha, by the Rev. Neil Manternach. Graveside Services: 4:30 p.m. Thursday, at St. Ann?s-St. Joseph?s Cemetery in Harpers Ferry. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Marion, where a rosary will be recited at 6:30 p.m. by Knights of Columbus Council No. 5390, with a parish vigil to follow.

Survivors include her husband, Charles, sisters, Reggie Johnson, Eileen (Bill) Pickrum and Joyce (John) Luster; brothers, Bud McFarland, Don McFarland and John (Margaret) McFarland; sisters-in-law Virginia Luster, Mary (Neil) Kane, Myrtle Spinner, Madonna (James) Rouiller, Helen Rissman and Charlotte (Glenn) Monroe; and brothers-in-law, Harland (Connie) Luster, Ernie (Alice) Luster and Clarence (Kay) Luster.

Also surviving are numerous nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews that she loved dearly. She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers, Bill and Leo McFarland and brothers-in-law, James Luster, Don Spinner, Don Rissman and Warren Johnson.

Rita was born the daughter of Donald and Mary Ellen (Craig) McFarland on May 11, 1942 in Gays Mills, Wisconsin. On May 21, 1966, in St. Ann?s Catholic Church in Harpers Ferry, she was united in marriage to Charles Luster. She was a member of St. Elizabeth Ann Seaton Catholic Church.

Rita was a loving wife and loved her family dearly.
