Robert “Bob” Jonas Harms, 62, of Central City, passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, July 13, 2018, with his loving wife by his side after an extended battle with cancer. The family will greet friends from 10 – 11 a.m. on Thursday, July 19, 2018, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Marion. Funeral Service will follow at 11 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will take place at Wilcox Cemetery, Viola.

Bob was born August 4, 1955, in Monticello, Iowa, the son of Robert and Margaret (Hakes) Harms. He graduated from Monticello High School. On July 4, 1992, in Nashua, Iowa, at the Little Brown Church Bob was united in marriage to YoVonne Pitzen. Anyone who knew Bob knew he had a zest for life. He was a fantastic cook, loved his beer, trucks, and fishing. Bob loved his dogs like children but most of all he loved his wife.

He is survived by his devoted wife, YoVonne “Yo” Harms; stepson, Nathan; stepdaughter, Natasha (Jaysson); stepfather, Edward Jaeger; brother, Randy Harms; sisters, Teresa (Peter) Compagnone, Tammy Harms, and Angel (Brandon) Davis; inlaws, Roger and Gin Pitzen; sisters-in-law, Paula (Rhonda) Pitzen, Lori Heaton, and Becky (Brad) Stovie; aunt, Lacretia Graves; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Bob was preceded in death by his mother, Margaret Jaeger; father, Robert Harms; grandparents, Jonas and Bessie Hakes; aunt and uncle, Shirley and Claude Green; and uncle, Louis Graves.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to the family in Bob’s memory.
