Robert Lee Hotz, Sr., 74, of 2925 Johnson Ave. SW, formerly of Marion, died Saturday, December 17, 2005, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a long illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2005, with military honors, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center in Marion with by Rev. Lloyd Brockmeyer. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Monday at the funeral home. Private burial will take place at a later date at Greene Cemetery in Morley.

Survivors include his wife, Maggie; five daughters, Becky (Marvin) Dittmar of Cedar Rapids, June (Norm) Kukuk of Illinois, Debi (Antonio Jr.) Vega of Swisher, Peggy (Joe Trevino) Hotz of Cedar Rapids and Wendy Tamayo of Cedar Rapids; a son, Robert (Marge Collins) Hotz, Jr. of Cedar Rapids; three step-daughters, Tammi Griffith of Cedar Rapids, Treasa (John) Youngman of Stone City and Tara (Jean-Louis) Badji of Cedar Rapids; twenty-eight grandchildren; and fifty great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are three brothers, Richard (Delight) Hotz of Troy Mills, Larry (Donna) Hotz of Mt. Vernon and Charles (Christie) Hotz of California.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two great-grandchildren.

Bob was born November 21, 1931, the son of Raymond E. and Irma J. (Woods) Hotz in Linn County. On November 10, 1975, he married Margaret Griffith in Anamosa. Bob served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He enjoyed playing cards, fishing, hunting, camping and spending time with his grandchildren. Bob was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.

Military honors will be provided American Legion Post No. 298 of Marion.

In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in Bob?s memory.
