Robert Leonard Moellers

Robert Leonard Moellers, 85, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Wednesday, September 16, 2026. Friends may call from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. on Monday, September 21, 2026, at St. Ludmila Catholic Church, Cedar Rapids. Funeral Mass will immediately follow at 10:30 a.m. at the church. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids. Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, is assisting the family.

Robert was born on October 21, 1940, in Ossian, Iowa, the son of Arnold and Lucille (Bengfort) Moellers. He graduated from St. Francis de Sales High School in Ossian before honorably serving in the United States Army. On September 9, 1967, Robert married Florence Van Dee at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church in Cedar Rapids. He dedicated 39 years to AmeriGas Propane, where he worked in a variety of roles throughout his career. Robert was a member of St. Ludmila Catholic Church and was actively involved with the VFW and American Legion.

A lifelong Chicago Cubs and Iowa Hawkeyes fan, Robert rarely missed an opportunity to cheer on his favorite teams. He enjoyed hunting and fishing trips to Canada, woodworking, and a good game of euchre, where his competitive side was known to come out. Above all, Robert was a devoted family man who worked hard to provide for his family. He took great pride in being a father and was especially proud of his grandson.

Survivors include his sons, Paul (Linda) Moellers of Arizona, and Brian Moellers of Wisconsin; his grandson, Carter Moellers; and his siblings, Jim (Bonnie) Moellers and Stan (Debra) Moellers.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Moellers; his parents, Arnold and Lucille Moellers; and his sister, Joyce (Ray) Amber.
