Rodney J. Swallom, 51, of Cedar Rapids, died Wednesday, June 17, 2009, at the
Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy, Hiawatha. Services: 10:30 a.m.
Tuesday, June 23, 2009, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service,
Cedar Rapids. Visitation: 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, June 22, 2009, at the funeral home.
Burial: Palo Cemetery, Palo.
Survivors include his parents, Russell and Shirley Swallom of Hiawatha; his daughter, Natosha Swallom of Cedar Rapids; two brothers, Chuck of Cedar Rapids and Michael (Sheri) of Vinton; and a sister, Sherrie (Randy) Tollefson of Cedar Rapids.
Rodney was born August 8, 1957, the son of Russell and Shirley (Spence) Swallom, in
Cedar Rapids, Iowa. A 1975 Kennedy High School graduate, he worked at Jiffy
Lube and Hiawatha Trailer Sales. Rodney enjoyed putting together models,
drawing and watching professional wrestling.
Instead of flowers, a memorial fund has been established in memory of Rodney.
