Roger Allan Thomas, 57, of Center Point, Iowa, died Friday, August 7, 2015, in his home.
Services: 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, August 11, 2015, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Center Point, by Rev. Mike Ellson. Family will greet friends from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial: Center Point Cemetery, Center Point.
Survivors include his wife, Katherine; children, Seth (Megan) Thomas and Alicia Thomas, all of Center Point; grandson, Kyler Thomas; sister, Linda (Chuck) Norman; brother, Randy (Julie) Thomas, all of Center Point; and his aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and grandparents.
Roger was born March 21, 1958, the son of Fred and Darlene (Carver) Thomas, in San Jose, California. A graduate from Center Point High School, he served with the United States Army from 1976 to 1980. On September 21, 1985, Roger was united in marriage to Katherine Ann Knight at the Sacred Heart Church in Walker, Iowa.
Roger worked for the City of Cedar Rapids and was a member of the Center Point Volunteer Fire Department for 35 years, a member of Center Point Ambulance Service for 22 years and an Assistant Scoutmaster for eight years.
Roger loved classic cars, trucks and riding his Harley. He enjoyed camping and spending time with his family, especially with his grandson, Kyler.
A memorial fund has been established in memory of Roger.
