Roland "Ron? Lloyd Neighbor, 58 of Shueyville, Iowa, died Sunday, July 16, 2006, in Mercy Medical Center, Cedar Rapids, following a courageous battle with brain cancer. Services: 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 18, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service. The family will greet friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Tuesday.
Survivors include his loving and devoted wife, Linda Sue; his children, Aaron Lloyd Neighbor and Carol (Russ) DeNeve; two grandchildren, Garret and Devin DeNeve; his mother, Claudine (J.R.) Burch of Belleview, Florida; three nieces, Traevena (Marlon) Byrd and son D.J., Esha Molette, all of Ithaca, New York, and Danielle Molette; three stepbrothers; two stepsisters; his father-in-law, Ira Mann of Shueyville, Iowa; a brother-in-law, John (Rebecca) Mann of Ft. Collins, Colorado; many incredible friends; and his faithful Rottie, Max.
He was preceded in death by his father, Roland L. Neighbor, Jr.; his sister, Roxanne Neighbor Molette; a stepbrother, Dennis Gradine; his mother-in-law, Carol Mann; and his faithful Rottie, Theodore.
Ron was born July 15, 1948, in San Francisco, California. He moved to Iowa in 1963 and had been a longtime resident of Shueyville since 1983. On April 24, 1969, Ron was united in marriage to Linda Sue Mann in Lancaster, Missouri. For 25 years, he worked as a maintenance mechanic for General Mills. Ron?s interests include Best Friends Animal Sanctuary and his daughter and son-in-law?s Wildlife Rehabilitation efforts. He also was a diehard Iowa Hawkeye Fan and an avid fisherman.
