Ron Corey, 68, of 2550 Pheasant Ridge Court, died Sunday, February 26, 2006, at home, following a short illness with his family by his side. Services: 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 1, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Cedar Rapids by Rev. Del Bear. Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 28, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Cheryl; four children, Daniel Corey of Washington, D.C., Greg Corey (Tammy Hawkins) of Marion, Kathy Simmons and husband Mike of Marion and Jason Corey of Hiawatha; two sisters, Dawn Juehring of Silvis, Illinois and Jackie Deak of Long Beach, California; and five grandchildren, Eric and Nick Simmons and Paxton, Fallon and Brooklyn Corey.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Ron was born March 6, 1937, the son of Daniel and Dorothy (Unger) Corey in Moline, Illinois. On May 24, 1958, he married Cheryl Westlin in Moline. He worked for over fifty years in the car business, most recently at Jim-Miller Buy-Rite Used Cars in Cedar Rapids.
A memorial fund has been established in Ron?s memory.
