Ronald A. Skelley, 75, of 1810 Mt. Vernon Road S.E., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, April 1, 2006, in University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics in Iowa City following a long illness. Services: 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 5, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. The family will greet friends from 4-8 p.m. Tuesday, April 4, 2006, at the funeral home. Burial: Mt. Calvary Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.

Survivors include his children, Wendy (Mark) Ohlhauser of Marion, Mark Skelley of Dover, Delaware, Patric (Jennifer) Skelley of Council Bluffs, Iowa, Jodee (Spike) Staebler, and Ronda (Tim) Hayes both of Robins, Michael Skelley of Cedar Rapids, and Leslie (Ray) Young of Alburnett; 10 grandchildren, Ryan Hayes, Amanda and Celeste Staebler, Felica & Michael Skelley, Cody and Courtney Young, and Levi, Regan and Wyatt Ohlhauser; two great-grandchildren, Jaylynn Staebler and Evie Staebler; two sisters, Joan (Jim) Kelty of Carefree, Arizona and Mary (Gary) Kness of Palmdale, California; a half-brother, Danny Cowgill of California; and best friend, Darrel Bogner of Cedar Rapids.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Arthur and Helen Skelley.

Ronald was born March 21, 1931, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, the son of Arthur and Helen (Thomas) Skelley. He served in the U. S. Navy. Ronald worked for the Rock Island Railroad from 1952-1974, was a courier for Weland Labs, worked in the Athletic Department at Kennedy High School, and was assistant tennis coach at Prairie High School. He enjoyed model railroads, dancing, playing and coaching tennis and was a avid Iowa Hawkeye fan.
