Rosalee Ann Briner, 89, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2025, at the Dennis & Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy in Hiawatha, Iowa. A celebration of life will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Monday, February 9, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Inurnment will follow at Cedar Memorial Park Cemetery in Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Rosalee was born on July 13, 1936, in Waterloo, Iowa, the daughter of Everett and Mary (Willey) Weekley. On October 9, 1955, Rosalee was united in marriage to Howard Raymond Briner Jr. in Cedar Rapids. She dedicated herself to her role as office manager for their family-owned company, WECO Engineering Sales, for over 20 years before her retirement. Rosalee was passionate about various hobbies like gardening, nurturing plants and flowers, needlework, and sewing. In their earlier years, they were members of a local square-dancing group called the Promenaders, a pastime that brought them closer together and filled their lives with laughter and community. Traveling was another of Rosalee’s joys, allowing her to explore new places and create additional cherished memories. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Marion and a local card club. She particularly enjoyed family time and gatherings, creating lasting memories for all who were fortunate enough to share those moments with her.
Rosalee is survived and lovingly remembered by her three daughters, Suzanne (Rick) Brouwer, Deb (Wayne) Lukes, and Paula (Robert) Rhea; grandchildren, Heather Lukes, Brad (Hilliary) Lukes, Melissa Brouwer, Erick (Christy) Brouwer, Lindsey Rhea, Kelsey Rhea (Reid Travis), Dana Rhea (Danny Deligo); great-grandchildren, Corbin (Maddie) Lukes, Hunter Lukes, Arianna Starks, Jermaine Reel, Preshus Mason, Bailey Mason, Ethan Mason, Ryne Lukes, Addison Lukes, Everett Deligio, Emma Brouwer, and Olivia Brouwer; great-great-grandchildren, Brynlee and Brecken Lukes; brother, David (Judy) Weekley; and sister, Gail (Bob) Coleman.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Everett and Mary Weekley, and husband, Howard Briner Jr.
The family would like to thank Bickford of Marion for their loving care and support over the past five years.
In lieu of flowers, memorials in Rosalee’s memory may be directed to the Dennis and Donna Oldorf Hospice House of Mercy.
