She was preceded in death by her husband, Elmer; her parents; three brothers; and three sisters.
Ruth was born August 28, 1917, in Pilot Grove Township, Williamsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Axel and Minnie (Klever) Fant. She attended Pilot Grove School and received her GED from Kirkwood. On April 21, 1936, she was united in marriage to Elmer Imhoff. He died July 5, 1985.
Ruth was a member of the United Methodist Church for over 50 years. She enjoyed being involved with the United Methodist Women. She spent many hours putting together school bags for the in-gathering program, baking cookies for the shut-ins and visiting people in the nursing homes. She was a very giving person and always took some fruit, cookies or flowers from her small garden to people who were unable to get out. She was a firm believer of missions and missionary work. She loved doing things for people, loved her church and loved God. It was meaningful to her when the children attended Sunday School, MYF and church camp.
Ruth worked many years cleaning homes, working at the One Fifty Gulf Stop restaurant, working at the Center Point Nursing Home and at St. Luke?s Hospital. After her retirement from St. Luke?s she enjoyed bowling, playing cards (especially Skip-bo) and meeting friends at the Gulf Stop for a sandwich and maybe a piece of pie. Oh, how she loved pie and ice cream.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to the nursing staff at Winslow House, the nursing staff at Meadow View?s Ridgeview, St. Luke?s Hospice and Dr. Mary Anne Nelson.
A memorial fund has been established in Ruth?s memory.
