Sammy D. Vassar, 40, of 1894 Black Hawk Dr., Marion, died Wednesday, June 16, 2004, in his home, following a sudden illness. Services: 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 19, 2004, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his children, Samuel and Stephanie of Belle Plaine; his mother, Cher and Donald Syren of Michigan; his father, Sammie Vassar of Nebraska; special friend, Stephen McAtee of Marion; a sister, April Rhodes; a brother, Gary Vassar; a stepsister, Lannia Syren of Waterloo; and a sister-in-law, Brenda Vassar of Ferryville, Wisconsin.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard.
Sammy was born February 20, 1964, the son of Sammie and Cheryl Lovelace Vassar, in Grand Island, Nebraska. He was a line coordinator for Core Flex.
