Scott E. Long, Sr., 52, of 1800 E Avenue N.W., Cedar Rapids, Iowa, died Saturday, December 23, 2006, in his home following a long battle with cancer. Memorial Services: 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, December 27, 2006, at Concordia Lutheran Church, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Jerry Dollinger. The family will greet friends at the church from 8:30 a.m. - 9:30 a.m.Wednesday morning prior to the service. Arrangements by Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his wife, Diane; his parents; a son, Scott Long, Jr. of Ames; a daughter, Michelle Long of Lancaster, Wisconsin; and two sisters, Debra Derby-French and husband, Steve of Cedar Rapids and Tonya Hanson and husband, Dean also of Cedar Rapids.
Scott was born July 16, 1954, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Darwin "Del? and Freda (Kingery) Long. On December 21, 1974, he married Diane Vagle in Estherville, Iowa.
Scott was the owner of Long?s Repair for 28 years. He also was a Boy Scout leader for Troop #33.
