Scott Tracy Sutton

Scott Tracy Sutton, 60, of Clarence, Iowa, passed away following a brief battle with cancer on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place. The family will greet friends from 1 to 3 p.m. on Saturday, August 8, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion, Iowa, with a Celebration of Scott’s life to follow at 3 p.m. Certified Celebrant, Suzanne Seigel Renner, will officiate. A Private Family Inurnment will take place at a later date.

Scott was born on May 3, 1966, in Iowa City, Iowa, one of two children to Ronald and Corrine (Wittman) Sutton. He was a 1985 graduate of Marion High School. Scott was grateful to do what he loved, being self-employed in his tree trimming business, helping many people in the community. As an avid outdoorsman, he loved hunting, fishing, and searching for morel mushrooms. Scott also enjoyed cooking and watching NASCAR racing. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. Scott will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Scott is survived and lovingly remembered by his two children, Alizabeth “Ali” Sutton of Lisbon, Iowa, and Alex Sutton (Rylea Manternach) of Mechanicsville, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Aaliyah, Jordyn, Liam, Paisley, Ellieanna, Leonard, and Zy; sister, Sheryl Dolley of Marion; one nephew, Justin Dolley; and several cousins.

He was preceded in death by his parents; maternal grandparents, Carroll and Mable Wittman; paternal grandparents, Beckham and Alice Sutton; brother-in-law, Scott Dolley; and one nephew, Julian Dolley.
