Seda G. Markosyan, 1928-2012 was born in Sukhumi, Republic of Georgia, into an Armenian peasant family, with two sisters and a brother. She began working in tobacco fields at the age of 5. Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday, January 16, 2012, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by the Rev. Dr. Ciprian Sas. Family will greet friends from 2 to 4:30 p.m., Sunday, January 15, 2012, at the funeral home where a Trisagsion service will be held at 4:30 p.m. Burial: Linwood Cemetery.
Seda achieved a B.A. in education from the Educational Institute of Abkhasi, city of Sukhumi. She was a math teacher and educational consultant in and near Sukhumi.
In 1951, Seda married Hapet Rezikyan and had two children, Grigor (who married Ella) and Susanna (who married Robert); and two grandsons, Aram of Tempe, Arizona and Karen of Minneapolis, Minnesota.
She came to Cedar Rapids, Iowa, in April of 2008, to live with Susanna and son-in-law Robert Anthony. Seda enjoyed gardening and reading.
