Sharon F. Franks, 52, 910 M Avenue NW, Cedar Rapids, died Tuesday, August 26, at St. Luke?s Hospital, following a long illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Monday, September 1, 2003, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, by Rev. Bill Harnish. Friends may call from 1-5 p.m., Sunday, August 31, 2003, at the funeral home. Private Inurnment: Oakhill Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her daughter, Rhonda (Tim) DeWitt of Cedar Rapids; her sons, Brian (Dawn) Franks of Central City and Kevin Franks of Cedar Rapids; her companion of 24 years, Theo A. Doupnik; her sisters, Susan Olmstead of Hiawatha and Salley Janecek of Cedar Rapids; and eleven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; three sisters, and two brothers.
Sharon was born January 22, 1951, the daughter of Harold G. and Hazel E. (Robinson) Franks, in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She was a graduate of Washington High School and worked as a waitress for 15 years in several restaurants.
A memorial fund has been established.
