Shirley LaVonne Heald

Shirley LaVonne Heald, 81, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at the Anamosa Care Center. A Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Marion. Funeral Services will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, August 14, 2026, at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Green Center Cemetery in Morley, Iowa.

Shirley was born on June 12, 1945, in Anamosa, Iowa, the daughter of Alva and Lela (Rogers) Yarrington. On June 1, 1968, Shirley was united in marriage to Larry Eugene Heald in Rockford, Illinois. She held a few positions including at Kmart Deli, Rockwell Collins as a custodian, Long Branch Hotel, and Pizza Ranch. Shirley will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Shirley is survived and lovingly remembered by her two sons, Kevin (Traci) Heald of Marion, and Mark (Marcy) Heald of San Antonio, Texas; daughter, Sandy (Josh) Stringer of Dodge Center, Minnesota; eight grandchildren, Ally, Ashley, Jessica, Miranda, Cayla, Ryan, Alex, and Rylee; and three great-grandchildren, Hazel, Xander, and Sirena.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Larry Heald; five brothers and two sisters.
