Stella L. White, 93, of Manchester, formerly of Cedar Falls and Parkersburg, died Saturday morning, April 8, 2006 at the Good Neighbor Home in Manchester following a brief illness.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, April 22, 2006 at Bethel Presbyterian Church in Waterloo. Inurnment will be in South English at a later date. Bohnenkamp-Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service in Manchester is in charge of arrangements.
Stella was born December 24, 1912 in Traer, the daughter of William and Leah (Gingrich) Kelley. She attended rural schools in the Traer area. On September 23, 1942, Stella was united in marriage to Wesley R. White in Missouri. The couple farmed in the Webster area before moving to the Cedar Falls and Parkersburg areas, where they lived most of their married life. Wesley died in 1980.
Stella enjoyed gardening, feeding birds, baking, playing cards and fishing.
Stella is survived by two sons, Gene (Mary Lou) Covault of Mahomet, IL and Dale (Pat) White of Waverly; five grandchildren; fifteen great-grandchildren; and a sister, Edna Garrison of Cedar Falls.
Stella was preceded in death by her parents, William & Leah Kelley; her husband, Wesley White; a step-son, Keith White; great-granddaughter, Emma Hubble; three brothers, Ernest, Ira & Clarence Kelley; and four sisters, Ester Workman, Edith Pickens, Dorothy Evans and Gladys Snyder.
