Steven C. Suhl “Sarg”, 55, of Palo, Iowa, died Monday, April 11, 2016, at his home. Services: 10:30 a.m. Saturday, April 16, 2016, at the First Church of the Open Bible, Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Visitation: 4-7 p.m. Friday, April 15, 2016, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids, Iowa.
Survivors include his children, Darcy (Brian) Darling, Kari Suhl and Janice (Travis Messerschmitt) Suhl; step daughters, Jessie-Lyn (Rudy) Titus, Kirsten (Jacob) Stallsworth, Natasha Johnson, and Diana Johnson; father, Don Suhl and step mother, Beverly; brother, Brian (Julie) Suhl and their children; and 11 grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Janice; uncles, Joseph Lynch Roger Ewald and Ron Havemann; great aunts, Ann and Louise Havemann; and maternal and paternal grandparents.
Steven was born on June 7, 1960, in Muscatine, Iowa, son of Don and Janice (Havemann) Suhl. He was a member of the Army Reserves and worked for many years for the Union Pacific Railroad. Steven loved spending time with his grandchildren and was an avid sportsman. He had a big heart and loved to tell a story.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial fund has been established.
