Thelma I. O?Connor, 88, a resident of Crestview Acres, Marion, died Saturday, January 3, 2004, at the care center, following a short illness: Private Memorial will be held at a later date. Arrangements are with Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary O?Connor of Cedar Rapids; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, Gerald and Beryl; three sisters; and a brother.
Thelma was born January 19, 1915, the daughter of James and Esther Rogers Rhatigan, in Prairieburg, Iowa. She spent many years as a self-employed painter and paperhanger. After her health declined, Thelma worked as a home healthcare provider, where many times she was older than her clients.
Survivors include a daughter-in-law, Mary O?Connor of Cedar Rapids; several grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.
