Timmy Wayne Craigo

Timmy Wayne Craigo, 51, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 26, 2026, at home. In agreement with his wishes, cremation has taken place, and there will be no visitation or services held at this time. A private celebration of Timmy’s life will be planned for a later date. Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Timmy was born on May 21, 1974, in Irving, Texas, the son of Edward D. and Trudy Lee (Hamilton) Craigo. Timmy worked as a Telecommunications Engineer for companies around the world, with projects spanning Africa, Canada, France, Alaska, and coast to coast across the United States. On June 23, 2003, he was united in marriage to Shawn Kathryn Helm in Carrollton, Texas. He enjoyed playing poker, dominoes, and darts, and was a loyal, lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan. Timmy preferred the outdoors to being inside, finding joy in fishing and spending time with his family. He loved them deeply, always putting them first, and took great pride in providing for them, something that remained his top priority throughout his life. Timmy will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Timmy is survived and lovingly remembered by his wife, Shawn Craigo of Cedar Rapids; four children, Courtnie (Dillon) Landers of Anna, Texas, Nicholas Craigo of Cedar Rapids, Amelia Craigo of Cedar Rapids, and Corey Farrell of Colorado; special honorary daughter, Taylor Dolezal of Cedar Rapids; grandson, Finn Landers; mother-in-law, Karen Helm of Waterloo, Iowa; sister, Tammy Craigo of Irving, Texas; brother, Tony Craigo of Lubbock, Texas; one niece and two nephews, Miranda, Justin, and Preston; and two brothers-in-law, Chad Helm of Waterloo, and Kurt Helm of Mesquite, Texas.

He was preceded in death by his parents, father-in-law, Leonard Helm; and one nephew, Tony Craigo Jr.
