Todd G. Dempster, 37, of 1341 Grandview Ave., Marion, died Friday, October 31, 2003, at St. Luke's Hospital, Cedar Rapids, after a sudden illness. Services: 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, November 5, 2003, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Pastor Randy Vartabedian. Friends may call at the funeral home from 4 - 8 p.m. Tuesday (Nov. 4.) Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include his father, Derrell (Linda) Dempster of Ely; his mother, Simone Bean of Marion; a sister, Marie Bean of Marion; a brother, Chad (Darcy) Dempster of Cedar Falls; two stepsisters, Becky (Brad) Holub and Kristine (Dan) McNutt, all of Cedar Rapids; and his maternal grandfather, Donald Rodenkirk of Cedar Rapids.
Todd was preceded in death by a sister, Christina; his paternal grandparents; and maternal grandmother.
Todd was born the son of Derrell Dempster and Simone Rodenkirk Bean on August 11, 1966, in Cedar Rapids. He worked as a finish carpenter with Walther Construction Company. A member of Theatrical Stage Union 690, Todd worked at the US Cellular Center and the Paramount Theatre as a lighting stagehand. Todd was an avid billiards player having played in various leagues. Todd had served with the National Guard.
