Tony was born on June 27, 1967, in Manchester, Iowa, the son of Lyle and Sandra Chapman, and Karen Hall. He was a graduate of Center Point High School and went on to serve honorably in the United States Army as a Bridge Crewman. On April 30, 1994, Tony was united in marriage to Diane (LaBarge) French at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. Tony had a long career with PMX as a forklift operator, until his retirement in 2023.

Tony had a special place in his heart for music and animals, especially dogs. He was a big concert goer. Tony loved being outdoors, gardening, growing vegetables, riding his bicycle, watching professional fights, working out, and playing pool. He enjoyed working on cars and was very mechanical. Tony had a wicked sense of humor and would often joke around with his inner circle of friends. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. Tony will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.

Tony is survived and lovingly remembered by his father, Lyle (Sandra) Chapman; mother, Karen Hall; wife, Diane Chapman; two children, Brenda Chapman and Brandon (Ann-Marie) French; three siblings, Scott (Lynne) Chapman, Cyndi Mattern, and Angela Chapman; two brothers-in-law, Mike LaBarge and Brad LaBarge (Katie); five grandchildren, Wyatt French (Leah), Eli French (Rian), Chloee French, Cecilia LaGrange, and Hunter LaGrange; two great-grandchildren, Willow Hames and Maryann Hames, and another great-grandchild due in February of 2027; and eight nieces and nephews, Chris Chapman, Shawn (Dayton) Chapman, James Cashen, Rena Cashen, Kyle Chapman, Cassie, Jenna Mattern, and Joshua Mattern.

He was preceded in death by his brother, James W. Cashen; sister-in-law, Erin LaBarge; brother-in-law, Paul Mattern; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Richard and Betty LaBarge; and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
