Valerie K. Williamson

Valerie K. (Harford) Williamson, 67, of Marion, Iowa, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, from complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Service of Marion is assisting the family.

Valerie was born on November 26, 1958, to Karene Yonkovic. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchild. Valerie was a huge supporter of feeding stray cats and enjoyed their company. Valerie had many cats of her own through the years. She also enjoyed hummingbirds.

Valerie is survived by her son, Randy (Dedra) Johnson, Springville, Iowa; grandchildren, Zane (Rebecca) Adney and their son, Michael, Springville, John (Maddy) Adney and their son, Braydon, Marion, and Xena (Tia) Haynes, Kentucky; daughter, Stephanie Albaugh and her son, Sterling, Marion; significant other, Don Avis, Cedar Rapids, Iowa; mother, Karene Yonkovic, Cedar Rapids; sister, Veronica Harford, Cedar Rapids, and her children, Kent McHenry and Crystal McHenry; and sister, Kelli Yonkovic, Cedar Rapids.

Preceding Valerie in death are dad, Raymond Yonkovic; brother, Greg Yonkovic; and nephew, Kyle McHenry.

Per Valerie’s wishes, there will be no viewing or services. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
