Virginia E. Burmeister (Hunter)

Virginia E. Burmeister, 84, of Springville, died Wednesday, June 20, 2007 at her home, following a short illness. Services: 10:00 a.m., Saturday, June 23, 2007, at Murdoch Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Marion, by the Rev. John Keizer. Visitation will be Friday, June 22, 2007, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., at the funeral home. Burial: Springville Cemetery.

Survivors include her son, Kevin Burmeister, of Springville; two sisters-in-law, Helen Rowold, and husband Barney, of Clarence and Betty Burmeister of Center Point; several nieces and nephews; and a very special dog, “Rusty”.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lawrence H. Burmeister, who died on June 30, 1994; a son, Jerry, who died on January 1, 2005; and two sisters Jeanette Sawyer and Josephine Davis.

Virginia was born January 19, 1923, the daughter of Archie & Olive Hunter. She married Lawrence H. Burmeister on August 14, 1940 in Anamosa. She was a hard worker, a wonderful homemaker and dairy farmer.

A memorial fund has been established in memory of Virginia.
