Vivian Irene Herman

Vivian Irene Herman, 87, of 1123 8th Street N.W., Cedar Rapids, died Sunday, April 16, 2006, in Mercy Hospital following a short illness. Memorial Service: 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, 2006, at Murdoch-Linwood Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Cedar Rapids. Burial: Linwood Cemetery, Cedar Rapids.
Survivors include her son, Darrel (Bea) Davis of Big Sandy, Texas; her daughter, Paula J. Herman of Cedar Rapids; step-children, Neomi (Fred) Brown and John (Sparkie) Herman both of Marion, and Marv (Sharon) Herman and Charlene (Tom) Wilson both of Cedar Rapids; four grandchildren, Timothy Herman, Mike Davis, Terri Rodriguez, and Robin Tibbits. Also surviving are her sister, Jacolyn Hutchings of Tucson, Arizona; many great grandchildren and many step-grandchildren; and step-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lyle; a step-son, Ron Herman; and two sisters, Margaret Vanderslice and Lois Snyder.
Vivian was born on December 3, 1918, in Burr Oak, Kansas, the daughter of Calvin and Hazel (Pierce) Weatherwax. On December 18, 1960, she was united in marriage to Lyle Herman. He died in 1983. She was a member of St. James United Methodist Church. Vivian was a homemaker and worked as a maid for Howard Johnson?s.
