William John “Bill” Scholl, 50, of Cedar Rapids, died quietly in his home Tuesday, February 9, 2010. The family will greet friends from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, February 12, 2010, at Murdoch Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Marion. Per Bill’s wishes, there will not be a formal funeral service.
Left to honor his memory are: his father, Wilmer Scholl of Cedar Rapids; brothers, Jim (Deborah) Scholl and their daughter, Deidre, of Alburnett, and Sid Scholl of TX; lifelong companion, Kim Snitker and her children, Drew, Haley, and “Taz”, all of Springville; son, Matt (Kim) Johnson and their son, Parker, of Monticello; and many, many close friends whom he cherished.
He will be greeted in Heaven by his mother, Mary, and all of his grandparents.
Bill was born February 18, 1959, in Cedar Rapids, the son of Wilmer and Mary (Flaws) Scholl. He married Kim Jennings in Springville, in 1985. They later divorced, but remained extremely close. He then married Treva Helgens, and they were later divorced. Bill worked for over twenty years as a graphic artist and later as a truck driver for various businesses in the area. He loved spending time in the outdoors, canoeing and camping, and his true passion was woodworking.
