Winona Lown Richardson, 92, of Cedar Rapids, Iowa, passed away Thursday, November 20, 2025. Visitation will be held from 4 to 7 p.m. on Monday, November 24, 2025, at Murdoch Funeral Home, Center Point, Iowa. Funeral Service will take place at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, November 25, 2025, at New Hope Church, 101 Ely Street, Walker, Iowa. Burial: Oakland Cemetery, Manchester, Iowa.
Winona was born on March 12, 1933, in Spring Grove Township near Troy Mills, Iowa, to Dorwin and Beulah (Jestes) Butterfield. She attended school in Center Point and married Keith Lown on October 23, 1949, in Center Point. They shared many years together until his passing in 1992. Winona worked as a waitress before beginning a 23-year career with Collins Radio, retiring in 1988. She later married Paul Richardson on August 15, 2000, in Fairfax, Iowa; Paul passed away in 2008. She enjoyed cooking, baking cookies, scrapbooking and treasured the time she spent with her family.
Survivors include her children, Myron (Esther) Lown of Vinton, Iowa, Linda (Marwan) Kabbani of Kenner, Louisiana, and Susie (Kemp) Huebner of Atlantic, Iowa; four stepchildren, Bruce, Sheryl, Sharon, and Sharlene; 13 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Richard Butterfield of Cedar Rapids and Joy Knight of Anamosa, Iowa.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Keith Lown and Paul Richardson; her son, Jeffrey Lown; sister, Garnett Clyde; brother, Lester Butterfield; and brother-in-law, Laverne Knight.
