Woodrow James Wilson, 74, of Walker, Iowa, died at his home on August 2, 2021. A celebration of life will be held from 4 – 8 p.m. on Friday, August 13, 2021, at Murdoch Funeral Home in Center Point, Iowa. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Walker United Methodist Church, 101 Ely Street, Walker, Iowa. Burial will follow at Troy Mills Cemetery in Troy Mills, Iowa.
Woodrow was born October 22, 1946, to Woodrow Thomas and Elma (Floyd) Wilson. On March 28, 1970, he was united in marriage to Caroll Desotel in Walker. Woodrow was a commercial roofer for most of his life. He spent 15 years with the Walker Fire Department. Woodrow enjoyed gardening and hunting raccoons with his favorite dog, Randy. Above all else, he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren.
Woodrow is survived by his wife, Caroll Wilson; son, Woodrow (Paulette) Wilson, Jr., of Quasqueton, Iowa; daughter, Margie (Michael) Anthony of Robins, Iowa; son, Gary (Marina) Wilson of Peyton, Colorado; son, Gale (Heather) Wilson of Cedar Falls, Iowa; grandchildren, Spencer, Ashley, Nicole, Brittany, Derek, Michelle, Katie, Leanna, Abigail, Chloe, Rachel, and Tracy Jr. (TJ); 11 great-grandchildren; brothers, Tom Wilson and Joe Wilson, both of Center Point, and Harold Wilson of Walker; and sisters, Kay Wilson of Center Point, Barbara Torkheim and Irene Wilson, both of Cedar Rapids.
Woodrow was preceded in death by both parents, Woodrow and Elma Wilson.
